The design

Design By Us / 2016

The idea for Harakiri began with a fascination for Eastern traditions and the art of storytelling. We wanted to create a lamp that captures the calm, meditative qualities of these aesthetics while serving a practical purpose. From this vision, the design evolved into a sculptural pendant. The result is Harakiri, a piece that combines serene elegance with functional lighting, transforming a simple lamp into an object full of personality and presence.

Design by Us' Story

Rasmus Larsson founded Design By Us in 1999 as a creative playground for imaginative design. From the very beginning, the goal has been to break traditional expectations in lighting and interiors, creating pieces that catch the eye while blending function with artistic form.

All our designs are made in-house at our Copenhagen studio. Some are produced in-house, while others are crafted by carefully selected partners, ensuring our vision is carried from the first idea to the finished piece.
